Dear Friends,

Well, maybe not in everyone’s neighborhood… I wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Dan will be speaking in Colorado this month. You may wonder why I am sending this to you?

Dan travels on a monthly basis to speak to Catholic groups both inside and outside the U.S.  He provides talks on his conversion story from Judaism to Catholicism and on the topic of his forthcoming book, Navigating the Interior Life – Spiritual Direction and the Journey to God,  as well as the kind of content you find here on Catholic Spiritual Direction.

Here’s a short 2 minute video of clips from his appearance on EWTN’s Journey Home program.

As you can see, he has a deep love for Christ and is passionate about our faith! To learn more about his speaking topics and how to get him to come to your area, click here. Below is his schedule for Colorado this month.

Navigating the Interior Life – Upcoming Webinar Invitation

Posted on January 28th, 2012 by Dan Burke

Dear Friends,

Please read this carefully as I will be traveling and will not likely be able to answer questions about this before the webinar.

Many of you attended one or both of our first webinars on prayer and the interior life. The purpose was to help the attendees understand the “You are here” of their walk with God and gain an understanding of what might be next for their journey in prayer.

After the webinar we received an influx of encouraging emails expressing appreciation for both the webinar itself and for the feedback/dialogue session at the end. We were able to field in the neighborhood of 50 questions at the end of each session. We had attendees from China, Finland, India, and from folks all over the U.S. The questions following the webinar were fantastic and the close-nit and encouraging community feel was really a delight for all.

The good news is that for the hundreds that could not get in or had schedule conflicts and requested a repeat of this webinar, we will be hosting the repeat on Saturday February the 11th and Saturday February the 18th. Here’s the info:

Topic: Navigating the Interior Life – Growing in Prayer and Virtue

Start: 10:30 AM Central Time

End: 11:30 AM Central Time

Follow-Up Q&A: For those who want to interact more after the webinar, you will be able to stay on line for an extra 1/2 hour or so after the webinar is complete. This will be from 11:30 AM to approximately 12:00 PM Central time.

One challenge that we do not have an answer for is the issue of having more people sign up than we can accommodate. The software does not limit to the number of people who can register for a webinar (and, you must register in order to have a chance at a seat). However, there can only be 100 participants in each session (due to limitations in our budget). The secret to getting in? Register early and log in early.

Another common question was whether or not you need a microphone etc. The answer is that you don’t need one. All the dialogue happens via typing into a kind of chat room on the screen. All you need to participate is an internet connection and speakers.

So, here we go with round two… looking forward to meeting all the attendees!

PS: More good news! Father Bartunek has generously agreed to provide two webinars in the future on meditation. The only way to stay informed on these is to ensure you are subscribed to the posts on this site. If you have yet to sign up for free emails, please do so at the upper right of the sight under the “Subscribe Free Via Email” header and don’t forget to tell your friends about us!

Deep in Scripture and the Journey Home Program

Posted on December 3rd, 2011 by Dan Burke

Dear Friends,

Happy Advent to you all! Thank you again for your encouraging notes regarding my appearance on the Journey Home program. It was an amazing experience. Though I was very nervous during the first few minutes, things got better once I got into it. Please pray for those impacted by the show. I have been contacted and have had discussions with an astounding array of people that I never anticipated I would or could ever reach. I don’t know how many people viewed the original program on TV but over 2,000 people have watched it on YouTube thus far. I am deeply grateful to have had this opportunity to work with Marcus and the incredible effort of the Coming Home Network.

After the television show appearance Marcus on I sat down to do a radio show that he hosts called “Deep in Scripture.” This was bit easier because I have some radio experience but even so, the topic is a challenging one. In this show we talked about one of my favorite passages of scripture, John 14:21–22, “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” If you would like to watch a live video of the show or listen to an MP3 version click HERE. If you do have a chance to listen to it, let me know your thoughts in the combox of this post.
