    Stand at the 'crossroads' AND LOOK.

    This little verse sets before me the imagery of standing at a busy intersection where vehicles are coming from “all directions” / to a small child standing at such corner it can be frightening. The child has no

    idea how to “cross over” to “the other side” / Ancient Paths…an

    image of the way that stands up to TIME – thus is proven successful and thus used without concern or anxiety / in the intersection analogy with

    the child…the child can't fathom how to cross over, but the adult with

    him (who has been here and done it many times) puts his hand to the

    child's hand and together they cross WITH THE LIGHT. (child rests easy

    in the confidence of his 'adult' caregiver.)

    Spiritually LIFE itself is a busy intersection with many many vehicles

    careening in our direction that say “I'm the one” to get you where you

    want to be. (fun, friendships, educational degrees, business striving,

    marriage, single etc etc etc) CONFUSING to a young mind; but

    THE CHURCH reaches out – having been around for 2000 plus years

    and we stroll through LIFE without harm…THE LIGHT our GUIDE.

    Yes, I agree with that comment totally. With Holy Mother Church holding us by the hand, so long as we follow her advice, we shall keep to the right path and cross the busy, confusing criss-crossing junction and walk safely home to our Father in Heaven.

    THE only way is to depart from the apex of the crossroads and walk beside the Christ and not behind him

    This is a beautiful scripture verse, and reminder, of our need for God’s presence in our life and the teaching authority of The Church.  Beautiful, thank you.

    the anceint ways, old testement. the years of God guiding us how to live our lives so they will be happy productive… it is all there.. then with Jesus who is the lamb, makes it all easyer.. faster, and totally Holyer.. it is more than our faith.. it is how to live… if we live the way God taught us. our crops will be bountyful, rain will come, our families blessed and fruitful.. our live stock will fluorish.. we will acheive happiness and peace no matter what happens, we can pray away danger, and have protection from storms.. why would we not want to follow God, and except Jesus.. this is where life is good.

    And also Proverbs 4:18-19 . . .
    “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,which shines brighter and brighter until full day.The way of the wicked is like deep darkness;they do not know over what they stumble.”

    Proverbs 4 is interesting. It starts with the Dad (Solomon) passing on some wisdom of the from Grandpa (David) . . . In preparation for Holy Week, I’ll spend some quality time today meditating of when, where, and how my parents and grand parents helped me to see God in all things, and become closer to rest for my soul.
