You should read (since this post started a long time ago thanks to St. John of the Cross) what Pope Benedict said about this saint on one of his wednesday´s audiences: Walking with Christ is not an added burden to our sufferings it is something completelly different: IT IS A LIGHT, A STRENGHT that helps us carry that burden. Christ IS our great love (or should be!) and this Love is the only Love that gives us wings and helps us bear more easily our desolations... This is FAITH: To know that you are loved by God, to be loved by God and TO LET GOD LOVE YOU. To let God love you means opening the windows of your soul so that the LIGHT OF GOD may enter.
