Prayer book help – Part II

old_hebrew_prayer_bookDear Friends,

Your feedback for the prayer book has been fantastic. What has also been interesting is the diversity of ideas and sources. This morning we had a friend from Nairobi, Kenya offer suggestions. We have also received great input from the eastern rites of the Church!  Please keep your suggestions coming. Please include the city, country, and tradition or rite that you are blessed to be a part of when you post your suggestion. We would like to have at least one prayer idea from each of the eastern rites of the Catholic Church.

Other than that, I spoke with the publisher yesterday about the prayer book and in order to keep the costs and effort to a minimum I will do much of the design work myself. To do this,  we will need a copy of software called Adobe InDesign. The challenge is, we don’t have the funds to purchase the software. As well, in order to manage graphics and other elements of this site and effort, we have been in need of software to make this easier too. If there are any of you out there who can donate a copy (legally of course) of Adobe Creative Suite 4 (retail cost about $2,000) or Adobe InDesign (retail about $750.00) we would be grateful. If you have the means and are interested in participating more fully in this apostolate, donations for this need would be greatly appreciated! Just click here to donate.

Either way, keep the ideas coming!

Am looking forward to this book! A few suggestions that you probably already have received:

    Litany of Loreto
    Litany of Humility
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts…
Acts of Faith, Hope, and Love

    I’ll keep thinking :)

      Thanks Debbie!

How about the Litany of Padre Pio? The Spiritual Communion prayer, the prayers Padre Pio wrote. The prayer for Padre Pio’s intercession, Novena to the Sacred Heart, Consecration to the Blessed Mother, The prayer St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote for the Visit to the Blessed Sacrament, A prayer for trust and confidence in God’s Mercy by Padre Pio. Prayer to the Sacred Heart. I hope this helps.

It does help – thanks Andrew!

      I agree. ;)

While I’m a starving art student and can’t donate… I do study digital arts… so if you have any aesthetic/typographic/photoshopping questions… feel free to ask.

    • Dan Burke

Dear Anna in Christ – Thanks for the offer! I hope you are not starving too much! – Advent blessings.

Being a 71 year-old widow with modest resources I feel sad I cannot donate but I shall pray to Saint Faustina, Christ’s Apostle of the Eucharistic Divine Mercy Devotion to interceed for us so that you can get a Donor to make it possible for you to buy the Software. This Prayer Book is needed in these times when the world needs all of us to pray to God for peace and His Divine Mercy

Dear Mary in Christ – there is no greater gift than prayer. Thank you.

  • Margarita

This is such a great idea. Love all of the suggestions, I would also like to see the St. Ignatius prayer “Take Lord revceive all my liberty…” Of course the Rosary, and maybe the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Count on my prayers…looking forward to a compact prayer book that I can carry in my purse:) God bless

It would be nice to see some inspirational poems from Saint John of The Cross or some writings from Thomas Merton. These writings can also be a form of prayer and are divinely inspired and most beautiful.
