Fr. John,

It seems that you condensed the four moments of Lectio Dinia (Lectio, Meditatio, Oratio, Contemplatio) equally in Consideration and Conversation. Even though it's not an enumerated step in Lectio Divina, Concentration is assumed. But I have to say that my difficulties in meditation are answered in part by the lack of what you called Commitment. As you said, otherwise, meditation may be reduced to an introverted practice, whereas it should spill out into our lives. After all, the Scriptures say that our love of the Lord should be reflected in our love of neighbor.

Father, like Denise, meditation now makes sense; it is so different to the New Age Contemplation which is taught by so many Catholic priests and sisters.

I will try to put what you have advised into practise so that I can come to a deeper relationship with the Lord.

Dear Fr. John

This is the first time that meditation has made sense to me. Down to earth and sensible. I will print it and try to make use of it.

I also wanted to tell you of my appreciation of your homily 'I am ashamed' I am braver now that I know that I am not the only one who strugles with such issues.

Blessings to you
