		<description>Dear Maria, I don&#039;t understand why you have the impression that Father John believes as you indicate. I can assure you that this is not the case from his perspective or mine. We both simply believe, as the Church teaches and saints encourage, that spiritual direction is a tremendously beneficial tool in the spiritual life and if properly pursued and administrated, is invaluable to our life in Christ and His sacraments. We have never and will never claim that the Sacraments are insufficient in any way. Blessings on you and yours in this Advent season.</description>

		<description>Thank you, Father. Beautifully stated. This gives us much to reflect on. 

I wonder if God does this because He knows that we learn more lessons from our failures than we do from our successes. And that includes those to whom we look for guidance.</description>
